Candle Ingredients For Your Candle Making Success

By Sunny Suggs | Sep 30, 2009

Many people often think about making their own candles. The question is which candle ingredients are the best for your new candle making craft?

Making candles is fun and rewarding if you can make your candles out of good ingredients even if you’re on a shoe string budget. This way you can start your new hobby and save money as well.

The best candle ingredients make the type of candles you would already buy. Do you like white candles with your bath or rose floating candles that sit harmoniously on your pond or pool?

Firstly, which candles are you really enthusiastic about? This is the best way to choose your ingredients. Do you like plain vanilla or mysterious purple candles? Pink floating candles or very large pillar candles?

For example I like white soy candles because they’re refreshing and the wax washes easily off your pouring pot or double boiler. They make a wonderful pillar candle or tapered candle which is perfect for creating a harmonious peaceful atmosphere after a tiring day at work.

You can create the atmosphere you’re in your own perfect day spa.

The right candle ingredients you’ll need are:
* Candle wax

* Specific candle molds

* Color or dye packets if you’d like to add color to your candles

* Fragrance or scents (essential oil if you’d like to create an aromatherapy or healing scented candle).

* The candle wicks are cut to the length of your specific candle mold.

A thermometer can also come in handy plus a measurement cup to test out your candle ingredients. Have a think about whether you’d like to try anything special like beeswax candles as well.

You might find you prefer the easy way of buying beeswax sheets from a craft shop with some wicks and simply folding the beeswax sheet over the wick for a quick easy candle you can make in under five minutes. There is no mess and you’ll crate the same peaceful harmonious atmosphere your grandmother or even romantic and mystical scholars and artists of the medieval days would have experienced.

So, in choosing your ingredients, remember it’s what candle you’d like to make that is important but also just as importantly what atmosphere you would like to create. Choosing the right candle ingredients for you can add so much to your home’s atmosphere and aid in your mental and emotional health with a lovely peaceful atmosphere.

Have fun experimenting with the right candle ingredients for you and don’t worry if it takes you a couple of candle experiments to get the right candle for you.
